After working in London for many years as pastry chefs followed by running a successful business in the south west, we decided it was time to move back to the north east to be closer to family. We wanted to start another business so we began developing some recipes from home. We had intended to make a whole range of cakes but received such excellent feedback about our brownies, we realised they were the way forward! With some branding help from Andrew Edwards at Third Floor Creative, Forge Lane Brownies began to take shape. Alongside the baking, we also have a long term project to produce some of the ingredients for our brownies. Our flock of hens are happily roaming around the field, laying excellent eggs for us to use in the kitchen and we are planning to plant fruit trees and bushes, so we'll have a good supply of homegrown fruit for our raspberry and white chocolate brownies and apple, brown sugar and cinnamon blondies. |

After completing my beekeeping course, I'm really excited to say the bees will be moving in very soon. A lovely supply of honey will be used to make our homemade nougat and toasted almond brownies! Using English butter and rich Belgian chocolate, all of the ingredients we use combine to make our brownies that little extra special. |
